In February 2019, the Migration Policy Group (MPG) is kicking off a campaign to boost voter registration and turnout in the next European Parliament elections in May 2019! The goal is to ensure that all mobile EU citizens register to vote and to increase voter turnout for young people, mobile EU citizens, newly naturalised national citizens, national citizens abroad, and the active volunteers and voluntary organisations that can reach all four groups.
We are looking for volunteers that have a few hours each month from February until May, or that would provide an office space for a fellow, or would be interested in inviting a fellow to present to first-time voters that your organisation can reach. MPG's democracy fellows will offer training and the chance to collaborate with citizens through local events and online. This volunteering opportunity is non-partisan and very flexible. All you need is a desire to help persuade others to vote.
In particular, we are looking for volunteers from Belgium, France, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, and Poland. Language knowledge is a plus.
